The St. Vrain Sanitation District would like to inform customers that, as part of the District’s 2023 rate study, a residential unit (RU) adjustment is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2026. At that time, the monthly rate is set to increase by $2.00, moving from $34.00 to $36.00 per RU. An additional $2.00 adjustment is scheduled for 2028.

To ensure transparency and provide an opportunity for public comment, the Board will hold a public rate hearing on November 20, 2025. This hearing will reaffirm and discuss the 2026 adjustment initially adopted by the Board in January 2024.

This process allows the community to be fully informed and ensures that all voices are heard before the scheduled adjustment takes effect.  Since 2019, District rate adjustments have been limited to modest $2.00 increases every few years, keeping costs predictable and stable. By following this
gradual schedule, the District continues to maintain some of the lowest and most affordable rates
in the region, while still preparing for long-term operational demands, debt service, and critical
infrastructure needs.  
The District remains committed to striking a balance between financial responsibility and affordability for customers, even as operational and legal challenges create additional pressure on resources.
