Sewer System Education

  1. Sanitary Sewer
Residential or Commercial service lines are 4-inch or 6-inch in diameter including the service connection is owned by the owner of the property or building they serve. The owner of the sanitary service line and service connection is responsible for its maintenance and repair; any leaks or breaks in the service line shall be repaired by the property owner.
  2. Wastewater Treatment Plant
Systems used in the collection, storage, treatment, recycling of sewage or industrial waste of a liquid nature, includes substances such as human waste, food scraps, oils and chemicals. All of the water used by homes, industries and businesses must be treated before it is released back to the environment.
  3. Treated Wastewater
It would be detrimental if we didn't treat the millions of gallons of wastewater produced every day before releasing it back to the environment. The wastewater is treated to high standards, disinfected and released to the St. Vrain Creek.
